No injuries are being reported and there is no word on a cause yet after a two-storey barn burned down on the eastern edge of Chatham-Kent.
Chatham-Kent fire officials said they were called to the scene at 19914 Duart Road just before 4 a.m. Monday, adding that the barn was already fully ablaze by the time they arrived.
Firefighters from Bothwell, Orford, and Ridgetown were all called in and took a "defensive" approach to fire.
Fire crews were still at the scene as of 10:30 a.m. Monday with an excavator also present to help clean up the site.
The cause is going down as undetermined and the damage was estimated at $2 million.
*An earlier version of this story said the damage was estimated at $200,000 as per an earlier release from Chatham-Kent fire officials. They have since corrected the estimated damage estimate to $2 million and the story now reflects that.
