Alvinston woman claims $500K lotto prize

An Alvinston woman is celebrating after winning $500,000 in the July 2 Lotto Max draw.

Karen White-McCallum, a 58-year-old educational assistant, said she plans to pay bills, save for retirement and help her children.

"I'm also going to plan a wine tour for my birthday with my 12 girlfriends," she smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Wonderland Road in London.

Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $6.5 billion since 2009, including 87 jackpot wins.
