A collision involving a school bus and a sedan closed the area surrounding Plank Road and LaSalle Line for a few hours on Friday.
St. Clair Township Fire Department reported the incident shortly after 7 a.m., asking motorists to avoid the area.
Fire Chief Richard Boyes told Sarnia News Today the collision did spark a fire on the school bus.
OPP initially posted to social media and said Plank Road was closed from Churchill Line to Brigden Road. The area of the Plank Road closure was later expanded from Churchill Line to Telfer Road.
Lambton OPP posted a video just before 9 a.m. to give an update on the investigation.
Cst. Tyler Campbell said students were on the bus at the time of the collision. One student was assessed by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries.
"The driver of the passenger vehicle has been transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," Campbell said.
St. Clair Township fire crews left the area just before 8:30 a.m. but OPP remained at the scene.
OPP said Plank Road between Churchill Line and Telfer Road reopened to traffic at around 10 a.m.
