Province Investing In Ontario Pork Promotion

Ontario Pork is getting up to 2 million dollars from the provincial government to help promote sales.

The money will be used for marketing and promotional activities to encourage more people to choose local Ontario pork wherever they eat or shop.

Ontario Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal says buying and eating local is one of the most important ways we can support our economy and our hardworking farmers.

He points out the investment supports Ontario's local food strategy.

Ontario Pork Chair Amy Cronin says being able to identify local pork products at retail is critical to the sustainability of the domestic industry

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
