Nov. 10 - Partial Royal Beef Judging Results

Lots of beef cattle competitions held on the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair's opening weekend.

In the Limousin judging ...

Rail Line Farms of Lucknow Captured Breeders Herd, Get of Sire, Junior Get of Sire and Reserve Junior Heifer Calf honours among it's major placings.

Brent Black of Goderich had the junior Yearling Female Champion.

Grand Livestock Company of Markdale had the Reserve Senior Yearling Female.

Other regional exhibitors with top-5 finishes in the Limousin judging were Emily Gibson of Ripley and After Hours Limousins of Tara.

In the Charolais competition ...

Bridor Charolais of Mount Forest showed the Reserve Champion Female Calf and the Reserve Champoin Senior Female among it's top finishes.

Hicks Charolais of Arthur placed second in the Get of Sire category.

Other regional exhibitors with top-5 finishes in the Royal's Charolais judging were Sunrise Charolais of Stayner, Packer Charolais of Chatsworth , Blue Mountain Charolais of Clarksburg, O'Neill Cattle Company and KJO Cattle Company of Priceville, Where Eagles Soar Charolais of Markdale and Brian Aitken of Mount Forest.

In the Shorthorn judging ...

A big day for Hill Haven Shorthorns of Duntroon.

Their titles include Grand Champion Female, Senior Champion Female, Intermediate Reserve Champion Female Calf, Junior Champion Bull Calf, Reserve Champion Junior Bull, Reserve Champoin Senior Bull, Progeny of Dam and Get of Sire.

Blenview Farms of Arthur captured the Junior Champion Female Calf, Intermediate Champion Female Calf and the Senior Reserve Champion Female titles.

Sandy Reid of Moorefield had the Reserve Champion Bull Calf.

Other regional exhibitors with 5 five finishes in the Shorthorn competition included RK Cattle Company of Moorefield, Diamond Future Cattle Company of Milverton and Coldstream Farm of Flesherton.

Just one regional top-5 finish in the Royal's Hereford judging - a 4th place finish for Bruce and Heather Ribey of Paisley.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
