Midwestern Ontario Goat Producers Compete At Royal

A number of Grey and Bruce County producers made their presence felt in this year's dairy and meat goat competitions at the Royal.

Ed and Bonnie Franken of Teeswater won the Breeders Herd honours in the Saanen Senior competition.

Gregory and Darlene Elchuk of Markdale had the Senior Champion and the Grand Champion in the Nigerian Dwarf Senior judging.

Priceville's Lynn Lightbody had a number of top-five finishes, including a second place in the Saanen Futurity category.

A number of other Midwestern Ontario exhibitors posted top-5 finishes in the various goat breed competitions, including:

Franlea Dairy Goats, John Franken and Frankhaven Dairy Goats of Teeswater,

Taylor Made Show Goats of Elora,

and Gregory Elchuk of Markdale.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
