FCC Food Drive

This year's Farm Credit Canada Drive Away Hunger campaign collected more than five million pounds of food.

That food goes to food banks nationwide.  FCC President and CEO Michael Hoffort says he's overwhelmed by the amount of support the drive got.

This year's drive had a record number of partners, schools and volunteers.  One of the platinum sponsors - BDO - brought in over 560,000 pounds of food. Farm Credit Canada also donated $100,000 to Food Banks Canada as part of the drive.

The national total came to just over 5 million pounds.

Ontario's share came in at 1.2 million pounds, second only to Quebec's 1.7 million pounds among provincial contributions to the drive.
