Corn, Soybean Harvests On 5-Year Pace

The U-S winter wheat crop is emerging ahead of the five year average, but the quality is slipping.

The USDA says 92 per cent of the wheat has emerged, 3 points ahead of the average.

The crop condition is 58 per cent good to excellent.

That's down 2 points from last week - 4 points behind last year.

The U-S corn and soybean crops are coming off close to their five year average.

94 per cent of the corn and 97 per cent of the soybeans are harvested.

That's 2 points ahead of the average for corn, 1 point behind for soybeans.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
