Statscan: No Significant Month-To-Month Ag Equipment Cost Change

Statistics Canada says the cost of agriculture-related equipment was unchanged between the second and third quarters of this year.

That matches up with the overall machinery and equipment price index - no change between quarters 2 and 3.

However, the agency says crop and animal machinery and equipment was 6 point 1 per cent higher in the third quarter of this year compared to the same quarter a year ago.

The index for machinery and equipment for what Statscan calls support activities for agriculture and forestry was up 5 point 5 per cent.

Both of those were higher than the overall machinery and equipment price index increase of 5 per cent from 2013.
