GBFW Kicks Off Tomorrow - Weather Permitting

Grey Bruce Farmers' Week organisors could be forgiven for holding their breath a bit today.

Not because of last night's World Junior Hockey Gold Medal game - but because of tomorrow's weather forecast.

The event is scheduled to open tomorrow with Beef Day.

Weather-permitting, of course.

Last year it was stormy weather which forced organisers to cancel Beef Day.

They're hoping to be able to go ahead with it tomorrow to kick-off this year's event with much the same agenda they had a year ago.

Grey Bruce Farmers Week is scheduled to run January 7th to the 13th at the Elmwood Community Centre.

Spokesperson Lorie Smith says Beef Day includes a presentation involving Joan McKinlay of Silver Springs Farm.

Smith says the daily producer panels are one of the reasons the event is so popular.
