NFU Ontario Looks At Alternative Food Distribution Systems

The impact of supermarket consolidation on agriculture will be one of the topics of the NFU-Ontario's annual general meeting this weekend in Waterloo.

Professors from Trent and Saint Mary's universities will look at the control supermarkets have on the industry.

They'll also explore alternative food distribution and retailing systems.

Another presentation at this weekend's event will deal with the impact of current world oil consumption on food production.

The NFU-Ontario delegates will also conduct regular business, elections and debate policy resolutions.

Saturday's event is open to the public.

It's at the Kitchener-Waterloo Naval Association facility in Waterloo.

Cost is 30 dollars, including lunch.

It's 20 dollars for youth ages 25 and under.
