Ontario's Top Herd Management Score Tops Most Provinces

An Oxford County Holstein operation has won CanWest DHI's 2014 Herd Management Score Award for Ontario.

Chris, Grant and Dan McLaren run Larenwood Farms near Drumbo.

They have a milking herd of 90 Holsteins.

The DHI Herd Management Score allocates points for performance in six different management areas.

The Larenwood Farms score of 985 out of a possible 1 thousand points was also the top score for the entire CanWest region.

That includes 4 thousand herds from Ontario to British Columbia.

Summitholm Holstein of Wentworth County finished second in Ontario, Brakke Farm of Dufferin County ranked third.
