New Centre To Promote Canadian Beef

The Canadian beef industry now has a state-of-the-art facility for promotion, training and education.

The Canadian Beef Centre for Excellence was opened this week in Calgary.

Canada Beef President Rob Meijer says the centre will help the industry tell its story about the Canadian beef producer as well as this country's beef production, world-class standards and sustainability to customers around the world.

The Centre of Excellence has a full commercial kitchen, meat case, classroom, dining facilities and broadcast capabilities.

It will be used as a focal point for domestic and international marketing opportunities and incoming trade missions.

Work began on the Centre last summer.

Canada Beef, Western Economic Diversification Canada and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada put a combined 3 point 8 million dollars into the project.
