Copper Wire Thieves Hit Farm Property

A Clifford-area farmer has a warning for other farmers in Midwestern Ontario - watch out for copper wire thieves .

He tells Blackburn Agrimedia he discovered about 20 feet of copper wire had been stolen from a barn on one of his nearby properties when he checked the property this past week.

The chunk of wire was part of the cable from a lightening rod on the barn down to the ground.

He says he was tipped off that something may be wrong when he spotted the ladder from inside the barn was outside.

He's planning to keep a closer eye on his outlying barns now that the weather is improving and is encouraging other farmers to do the same.
