Thompsons Buys Perth County's Rannoch Grains

Thompsons Limited has announced two moves in Perth County.

One is the purchase of Rannoch Grains of Rannoch, near St. Marys.

The other is an additional investment in it's Mitchell/Shoonderwoerd facility.

Thompsons President Dawn Betancourt says the Rannoch deal expands the reach of it's Grain Marketing, Agronomy Solutions and Food Products business into what she calls a strategic geographic location.

Betancourt says Thompsons-Rannoch will be served through the Thompsons-Granton facility.

The company says the Mitchell/Shoonderwoerd investments will allow for increased efficiencies in unload times, drying and grain handling.

Betancourt did not specify how much Thompson's is investing in that infrastructure or the price of Rannoch Grains purchase deal.
