FFC Foundation Gets Boost From Egg Farmers

50 for 50.

This is Egg Farmers of Ontario's 50th anniversary year.

To help mark the occassion, EFO has donated 50 thousand dollars to the Farm & Food Care Foundation.

Former EFO Chair Jim Johnstone was among those who helped establish the Ontario Farm Animal Council in 1987.

OFAC joined with AgCare in 2012 to create Farm & Food Care Ontario.

The Farm & Food Care Foundation will using the donation to help launch programming across Canada.

The goal is to provide a proactive, coalition approach to building trust in food and farming in Canada.

It will be an extension of the work already being done by Farm & Food Care organisations in Ontario and Saskatchewan.

The donation was made at the recent Egg Farmers of Ontario annual convention.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
