Ontario Not Done With PED Yet

A Perth County farrow-to-feeder operation has Ontario's latest confirmed PED diagnosis.

The diagnosis was confirmed Wednesday. That makes a total of 79 confirmed diagnosis since the virus first showed up in Ontario in January of last year.  It's the tenth case this year and three of those ten are in Perth County.

The virus can be fatal for young pigs, but is not considered a threat to human health or to food safety.
