PC Ag Critic Has Invasive Species Act Concerns

Conservative Agriculture Critic Toby Barrett says he's got some concerns about the province's Invasive Species Act.

He says he favours the spirit of the legislation.

However, Barrett questions the act allowing entry without a warrant.

He's also concerned landowners could be held liable for having invasive species on their property.

Barrett says that puts the weight on the shoulders of landowners.

He argues when it comes to invasive species, the emphasis needs to be on prevention, promotion and education.
