Ag Sector GDP Up In February - Down Year-Over-Year

The gross domestic product for Canada's agriculture and forestry sector was up 1 point 1 per cent in February.

Statistics Canada says growth in crop production and the forestry sector outweight a decline in animal production for the month.

However, the sector's GDP dropped 1 point 2 per cent in February from the same month last year.

The overall national GDP was unchanged in February from January.

February's total GDP was up 2 point 1 per cent from a year ago.
