Latest Ontario PED Diagnosis In Lambton County

Ontario has it's first confirmed PED diagnosis in almost a month.

The diagnosis for a Lambton County farrow-to-finish operation was confirmed May 13th.

There was one confirmed location in April - in Perth County - and two in March - Elgin and Waterloo.

That makes a total of 11 confirmed PED diagnosis so far this year - a lot fewer than we had a year ago at this time.

The disease can be fatal for young pigs, but is not considered a food safety issue nor is it a threat to human health.
