Canadian Hog Production Up - U-S Production Up More

The number of hogs slaughtered in federally-inspected plants in Canada to June 6th was up 2 point 3 per cent from a year ago.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada says total pork production is up 3 point 7 per cent so far this year over last.

U-S hog slaughter so far this year is up 6 point 1 per cent from 2014.

The University of Missouri's Ron Plain reports year to date U-S hog production is up 5 point 9 per cent.

Prices are down in every Canadian province from last year.

Ontario's prices are down just over 17 per cent from a year ago.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
