GFO's Pool Return Outlook Figures Released

Grain Farmers of Ontario has announced the initial payments and pool return outlook for the pools operated by it's Wheat Marketing team.

The initial payments are about 65 per cent of how the team expects those different classes to perform in the marketplace.

This year's Pool Return Outlook ranges from 5.91 a bushel for Pool E - Soft Red - up to 7.46 a bushel for Pool A - Soft White.

GFO's Todd Austin says the pool spreads out the cash flow for growers and allows them to move grain at harvest while taking advantage of post-harvest markets.

Austin says the pool system is a good insurance policy because historically, it hits market average or better.
