Agriculture Sector Posts GDP Increase In April

The agriculture and forestry sector bucked the national gross domestic product trend in April.

The overall GDP edged down 0 point 1 per cent in April - the fourth consecutive monthly decline.

However, the agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting sector posted a 0 point 5 per cent gain in April.

Statscan says the crop and animal production sector posted a similar 0 point 5 per cent increase.

Both the overall agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting sector and the crop and animal production sectors have now posted increases for the first four months of 2015.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
