U-S Wheat Harvest Behind, Corn And Soybean Conditions Slip

U-S winter wheat growers are running behind on their harvesting.

The USDA says 38 per cent of the crop is off - compared to the five-year average of 46 per cent for this time of the year.

The winter wheat crop's condition is holding at 41 per cent good to excellent - same as last week and 11 points better than last year.

The spring wheat crop condition moved up a point to 72 per cent - 1 point better than last week, 2 better than last year.

The USDA says 68 per cent of the corn is good to excellent - down 3 points from last week, 7 points off last year at this time.

Soybeans are 63 per cent good to excellent - down 2 points from last week and 9 points behind last year.

The department says U-S farmers have 94 per cent of their soybeans planted - 3 points behind the five year average.
