IPM 2008 Still Benefiting Bruce County Students

Bruce County students can still reap some of the benefits of the 2008 International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show near Teeswater.

County commodity groups ran a food court at the IPM.

It raised enough money for them to create the Bruce County Commodities Food Court Agricultural Scholarship.

It's a 1 thousand dollar scholarship awarded to one student each year from Bruce County and, for this year, graduating high school in 2015.

That student needs to be continuing his or her education in a post-secondary agriculture program, apprenticing in an agriculture-related field or be otherwise substantially engaged in the business of farming.

The application process involves a resume and a 1 thousand word essay on the applicant's future plans and reasons for wanting to remain involved in agriculture.

Deadline for applications is September 12th.

They can be mailed to agrimedia@blackburnradio.com.

More information is on-line in the Farm Advisory Board area of the Agrimedia section of BlackburnNews.com.
