Little Change In Condition Of U-S Corn, Soybeans, Spring Wheat

The condition of the U-S corn crop was unchanged last week, soybeans up a point and spring wheat down 1.

The USDA says 70 per cent of the corn is rated good to excellent, same as last week, 3 points behind last year.

Soybeans are 63 per cent good to excellent, up a point from last week, 8 points behind a year ago.

And 70 per cent of the spring wheat is good to excellent - down a point on the week and even with last year.

The U-S spring wheat harvest has begun, with the USDA reporting 8 per cent of the crop taken off so far.

That's 3 points behind the five year average.

Meanwhile, the U-S winter wheat harvest is running ahead of average, with 93 per cent done compared to the 85 per cent 5 year average for this time of the year.
