Grain Handler Reports Weaker Second Quarter

One of the co-owners of Thompsons Limited is reporting lower net income for the second quarter.

The Andersons says it's net income dropped from 44 point 3 million last year to 31 point 1 million this year.

The company reports wet weather reduced nutrient application in a number of areas, leading to reduced margins for it's wholesale nutrient business.

Andersons' Grain Group results were also impacted by lower margins and volumes, primarily from lower than expected movement of grain off farm.

Andersons and Lansing Trading Group are the co-owners of Blenheim-based grain handler and agronomy input provider Thompsons.
