U.S. Cattle Inventory Up

The U-S cattle inventory was up 3 per cent on August 1st.

The USDA says there were 10 million head of cattle and calves on feed for the slaughter market the first of the month. Placements in July were 1 per cent below July of last year. Marketings were 3 per cent below 2014. Placements were 1.55 million head, marketings 1.73 million.

The USDA says both the placements and the marketings numbers were the lowest for July since the series began in 1996.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
