Hybrid Turkey Pleads Guilty To Animal Abuse Charge

Hybrid Turkeys has been fined 56 hundred dollars on an animal cruelty charge.

The company pleaded guilty to one county of failing to exercise reasonable care and supervision of the euthanasia of an animal at it's Woodstock-area facility.

The Ontario SPCA had originally laid 11 charges following a March 2014 investigation.

A Hybrid Turkeys official says the company has zero tolerance for animal abuse.

Hybrid's Manager of Science and Sustainability - Doctor Helen Wojcinski - says they have used this isolated incident to make the company's internal programs even stronger.
