2015 Bruce Plowing Match Results

The Bruce County Plowmen's Association has named Serena Lamont from the Ripley area it's 2015/16 Queen of the Furrow.

Lamont will represent Bruce at the 2016 IPM in Wellington County.

She was crowned at the annual Bruce County Plowing Match last Friday.

48 competitors took part in the various plowing categories at the match.

The IPM Open Senior was won by Brian Davenport from Grey County with Bruce County's Paul Robinson second.

Valery Monk of Bruce won the IPM Open Junior.

Shawn Ryan from Huron was second in that category.

The Class 8 Tractor Open 3 Furrow Plows was won by Harold Leudke of Bruce with Matt Magwood, also of Bruce, coming in second.

The Senior category winner in the Bruce County Plowing Match was Grey County's Natalie Cameron.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
