Ontario PC Leader Commits To Science-Based Neonic Approach

Grain Farmers of Ontario may have a new ally at Queen's Park in the neonic-treated seeds situation.

Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown was elected as the MPP for Simcoe North in last week's provincial by-election.

During the campaign, Brown and the other candidates in that by-election were asked to share their views on how the government handled the regulation of neonic-treated seeds.

Brown's response argued the political objectives of the Liberal government trumped science in this case and called the regulations heavy handed.

The PC leader also pointed out his party has long advocated for a science-based approach to neonics.
