Grey Dairy Farmer Wins Provincial Youth Award

The Ontario Holstein Branch has announced this year's 4 winners of the Ontario Dairy Youth Award.

One of those winners is from Grey County.

The Award recognizes young people aged 25-35 who are actively involved in the operation of a diary farm, who have demonstrated leadership and taken an active role in their communities.

Winners get an all expenses paid trip to the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin.

Ted Clarke of Blayjoy Holsteins will be on that trip.

Clarke milks 50-55 cows with his brother Allan and parents Blain and Joyce on their Dundalk area farm.

It's a 450 acre tie-stall operation with a total of 135 head of cattle.

This year's other winners are Adam Petherick from Campbellford, Oxford County's Gary Markus and Stefen Robinson from Renfrew County.
