Grey, Wellington Competitors Do Well In West-Central Junior Show

Exhibitors from Grey and Wellington counties took some of the top honours at the recent Ontario Holsteins West-Central Junior Show at Elora.

The two-day show featured competition in both showmanship and calves.

Hunter Maisonneuve of Grey was second in Junior Showmanship and received overall Honourable Mention.

Charlotte Woodhouse of Grey came in second in the Peewee Showmanship for young people between the ages of 6 and 8 years old.

The overall Champion Showperson of the day was Sydney Cain of Brant with Denise Sayles of Brant judged the Reserve Champion Showperson.

Grace McNabb of Grey showed the top Junior calf while Hunter Maisonneuve's calf came in second.

Mary Brander of Wellington had the top Intermediate calf.

Justin Walker of Wellington had the second-place Senior calf.

McKenna Stephens of Wentworth showed the top overall calf in the competition , Mary Brander of Wellington the Reserve champion and Grace McNabb of Grey received an Honourable Mention.

The 15th annual West-Central Junior Show was held at the Grand River Raceway in Elora on August 20th and 21st.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
