BMO Honouring Ontario Farm Families At IPM

Farm families from Perth and Wellington counties will be among those recognised with BMO Ontario Farm Family Awards at this year's IPM.

The awards showcase the outstanding contributions made by farmers across the province.

BMO's Sandra Henderson says they're a way for the bank to recognize and show gratitude for the tremendous commitment these ten families have made to the industry and their communities.

This year's recipients include the Terpstra Family of Birch Lawn Farms Limited, Atwood and the Fraser Family of Fraegrove Holsteins of Elora.

The winning families will be treated to a day of Plowing Match events as well as a plaque presentation, lunch and a family photograph session.

BMO is also hosting a Kids' Zone daily at the match featuring fun, educational and interactive games and giveaways.

The second annual BMO Kids Day in on the Saturday of this year's event.

The 2016 IPM goes September 22nd to the 26th near Finch - which is in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry in Eastern Ontario.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
