Lots Of Trophy Hardware For Midwestern Ontario Plowmen

Three Midwestern Ontario plowmen have qualified for the Canadian competition.

Brian McGavin of Walton finished second in the Ontario Champion conventional plowing category at last week's IPM.

Tom Evans of Tiverton finished first in the reversible plowing with Gerald Corbett of Exeter second.

The top two in each of those categories qualify for the nationals.

Among the other Midwestern Ontario plowmen who did well in the competition were Scott Thomas of Elmwood, Donald Roi of Shallow Lake and Robert MacRobbie of Mount Forest.

Thomas and Roi finished first in their horse plowing competition, MacRobbie second.

Lucas Townsend of Blyth and Andrew Young of Cargill finished first and second in the 2 furrow plowing for 10-15 year olds.

Shawn Ryan of Dashwood was second among the 16-19 year olds.

Ryan and Huron County's Troy Leeming both qualify for the national championships next year as well.

Atwood's Clayton Terpstra was first in the 3 furrow plowing for 10-15 year olds.

Jeff McGavin of Walton was second in 2 furrow plowing ,Anthony Bertrand of St. Marys second in three furrow, and Erich Weber of Ayton first in 4 furrow plowing.

The 2015-16 Queen of the Furrow is Kathryn Chant from Grenville County.

Next year's IPM is in Wellington County - near Harriston.
