U-S Farmers Further Ahead On Soybean Harvest

U-S farmers are ahead on the soybean harvest, behind on their corn.

The USDA says the soybeans are 21 per cent off - 5 points better than the five year average.

Corn is 18 per cent harvested, 5 points behind the average.

This week's Crop Progress Report tells us 68 per cent of the corn is rated good to excellent - same as last week - 6 points behind last year.

62 per cent of the soybeans are good to excellent - down a point from last week, down 10 from a year ago.

And the USDA reports 31 per cent of the American winter wheat crop has been planted - that's running 4 points behind the five year average for this time of the year.
