Celebrating Ontario Farming And Local Food

The Ontario government has some suggestions for people looking for ways to celebrate Agriculture week.

OMAFRA is encouraging people to visit a local farmers market, buy VQA win, craft beer and cider and plan a meal with seasonal ingredients.

The ministry calls the agri-food industry a significant driver of the province's economy, contributing 34 billion dollars a year and employing more than 780 thousand individuals.

Ontario farmers produce more than 200 agricultural commodities.
