U-S Corn, Soybean Harvests Ahead Of Pace

American farmers are now running ahead of the five year average with both their corn and soybean harvests.

The USDA says 59 per cent of the corn and 77 per cent of the soybeans are off.

For corn, that's 5 points ahead of the average.

Soybeans are 9 points ahead of average.

The USDA's latest crop progress report doesn't include a soybean condition, but has corn at 68 per cent good to excellent.

That's the same as last week for corn and 6 points ahead of last year.

American winter wheat growers are almost right on their averages - with 76 per cent of the crop planted and 49 per cent of it  emerged so far.
