Listowel Junior Farmer Event Will Have Lasting Impact

A club from Peterborough took top spot in last weekend's Junior Farmers of Ontario Autumn Profile event in Listowel.

Peterborough entered two clubs in the competition - and they took the first and second place honours.

A club from Waterloo finished third.

The Autumn Profile is described as a 'Farmer Olympics-style' competition.

Crystal Blake of the host Perth County Junior Farmers says they had more than 100 Junior Farmers from across the province at Saturday's event.

One of this year's new events was a competition that focused on promoting agriculture and the Junior Farmer organisation.

Teams had 15 minutes to come up with a script and record a video for points.

Blake says this element of the competition will have a lasting impact because they plan to use parts of the recordings to create a promotional video for Junior Farmers.
