Grey, Perth, Wellington Recipients Of Premier's Ag Innovation Awards

13 regional Premier's Awards for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence were handed out at a ceremony in Cambridge this week.

The list included recipients from Grey, Perth and Wellington counties.

The winner from Grey was Bighead Hops of Meaford.

From Perth - Stratford and District Agricultural Society and Perth County Ingredients.

The winners from Wellington include Beef Improvement Ontario of Elora, Best Baa Dairy of Fergus and Jewels Under The Kilt, also from Fergus.

Three recipients were from Guelph - Escarpment Laboratories, Harvest Hop and Malt and the Ontario SHeep Marketing Agency.

The Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence program recognizes contributions to the creation of new products, adding value to existing products, supporting a sustainable environment, helping support job creation and boosting economic growth in Ontario.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
