U-S Farmers Nearing Corn, Soybean Harvest Completion

U-S farmers are nearing the end of the harvest for both their corn and soybean crops.

The USDA says the corn harvest is 93 per cent completed while the soybeans are 95 per cent done.

Corn's 5 points ahead of the five year average, soybeans 2 points.

American growers are almost finished planting their winter wheat as well.

92 per cent of that crop is now in the ground against the 94 per cent five year average.

According to the department's weekly crop progress report, 51 per cent of the wheat is rated good to excellent.

That's 2 points better than last week but 9 points behind a year ago.
