Royal Youth Competitions - Crops, Junior Barrow Show

A 4-H member from Kinburn in Huron County had a first place finish in the Field Crops competition at the Royal.

Megan Styles had the top entry in the Wheat, Any Variety category.

Finian Lugtigheid of Kent Bridge showed the top soybeans, any variety, with Ben Rhodes of Chatham second.

Sean Berube of Blenheim had the top display of hay, second cut or later.

Shaelyn Van Herk of Monkton showed the Grand Champion Market Pig in this year's Ontario Junior Barrow Show at the Royal.

Ben Robinson of Walton had the Reserve Champion Market Pig.

Josh Robinson of Walton picked up the J. Harold Crang Memorial Trophy for Stockmanship in the competition.

The team of Daryn, Shawn and Shaelyn Van Herk of Monkton came in second in the Intercounty Group of Three while Tyler, Emmy and Kyle Cronin of Bluevale came in third.

Jessalyn Hendriks of Lucknow took first in the Best Dressed Pig Picture category

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
