Bringing Royal Poultry Honours To Midwestern Ontario

Exhibitors from Wellington, Grey, Bruce and Perth Counties were among the major winners in this year's Poultry competitions at the Royal.

Jean Homer from Fergus won the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Standard honours.

Her other titles included Champion American and Champion Asiatic.

Markdale's Ron Westgate had the Grand Champion Duck.

Westgate also showed the Champion Heavy Duck.

Donald Beirnes of Listowel showed the Reserve Heavy Duck, the Champion Medium Duck and the Reserve Medium Duck.

Paul Homer of Fergus had the Champion and Reserve Champion English.

Bart Nyland of Lucknow had the Champion Feather Leg in the 2015 Royal Poultry competition.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
