Lower Markets, Rising Input Costs Trigger RMP Payments

Some Ontario grain farmers are going to be getting Risk Management Program payments this year.

Agricorp says declining market prices and rising costs have triggered the payments.

Canola, corn, popping corn and spring grain producers insured at the 90 and 100 per cent levels can expect payments.

Soybean and spring wheat growers with 100 per cent coverage can also expect payments.

Agricorp says market prices for livestock are assessed in December to determine whether payments will be made for those producers.
