Deere's Equipment Sales Forecast Leads To Layoffs

More layoffs at Deere and Company in the U-S.

The company says 220 workers at it's Seeding and Cylinder operations in Moline, Illinois will be placed on indefinite layoff.

That starts mid-February.

A company statement says the layoffs reflects last week's forecast by Deere that agricultural machinery sales will drop in 2016.

Workers at the Moline plant have experienced seasonal layoffs in the spring and returned to work in the fall in the past.

However, this indefinite layoff has no specific call-back date.
