Crop Advisors Offered 4-R Nutrient Management Specialist Certification

Ontario crop advisors will soon have a new certification available to them.

The Certified Crop Advisor 4-R Nutrient Management Specialist certification will be launched early next year.

It will be based on the 4R Nutrient Stewardship framework calling for the use of the right source at the right rate at the right time and in the right place.

The certification program is funded jointly by OMAFRA, Fertilizer Canada and the Ontario Agri Business Association.

Susan Fitzgerald of the Ontario Certified Crop Advisor Association says it will develop 4R Nutrient Stewardship educational resources for advisors as well as the broader agricultural community.

Association Board Chair Clare Kinlin says the program will help advisors' grower customers meet the need for improved water quality, environmental stewardship and sustainability.
