ABCA Offering Five Farmers Free Soil Testing

Five farmers in the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority watershed could be getting free soil samples.

The Authority is providing five free soil tests as prizes linked to World Soil Day.

That includes the free collection of the samples , analysis and the interpretation of the results for a farm of up to 100 acres.

The first five qualifying farms to reach Healthy Watersheds Technician Abigail Gutteridge after 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 4th, will win.

Her number is 888-286-2610.

Ausable Bayfield Conservation Healthy Watersheds Supervisor Mari Veliz says there's real value in the collection of testing of soil health.

She says they felt awarding the five soil test prizes would be a meaningful way to celebrate World Soil Day.
