Bruce County Sheep Farmers Innovation Recognized

A Paisley area sheep-farming couple have been named this year's Innovative Farmers of the Year by the Innovative Farmers Association of Ontario.

Vince and Heather Stutzki own ElmCrest farms - a 200 acre operation they started in 1988 near Paisley.

They raise 850 sheep and lamb five times a year.

Vince Stutzki says they've been all across Ontario, Quebec and Michigan to pick up innovation ideas for their Bruce County farm.

He adds that maintaining their pastures is very important to their operation - suggesting there's quite an art involved in managing those lands properly.

The Stutzki family will be recognized at the Innovative Farmers Association of Ontario's annual conference in February in London.
