Wellington County Farmer Fined For Marketing Fallen Animal

A Moorefield farmer has been fined 3 thousand dollars on two charges relating to the disposal of deadstock.

He was charged with sending a cull cow to the Ontario Livestock Exchange in July which an on-site veterinary inspector deemed to be a fallen animal.

Kuper pled guilty to two charges - one for failing to humanely kill a fallen animal in his care and another for moving the animal before killing it.

That case was heard in Provincial Court in Guelph in November.
