BFO Commits To Ontario Food Banks For 2016

Beef Farmers of Ontario has made a 40 thousand dollar commitment to the Ontario Association of Food Banks for 2016.

The money will go towards the direct purchase of fresh beef from Ontario farmers and will also be leveraged for matching funds from industry partners.

OAFB Executive Director Sharon Lee says the BFO contribution will provide 15 thousand pounds of fresh ground beef to provincial food banks.

BFO President Bob Gordanier says farmers work hard to raise and grow safe and healthy food.

He says ensuring that everyone has access to that food must be a priority.

The 2016 commitment is part of an ongoing BFO program first announced in 2014.
